The owners were so friendly and helpful, and their advice was good. We had a sea-view room, a place to park the car, and access to a private beach with free beds. Thanks for a great stay!

It’s easy to walk along the beach to Porto Empedocle, about 40 minutes. The place itself is fantastic and right on the shore. I had a rare rainy day in September, but the hosts’ kindness made up for the weather.

I can’t recommend this place based on my brief experience. Maybe the owner was tired of visitors at the end of the season, but I booked a room through Airbnb expecting to stay right on the beach. When I arrived, he told me, in very poor English, “two people not possible not possible.” I’m bilingual and tried German too, but he only spoke Italian. It seemed they don’t rent rooms, but offer some unnamed per-person service. He wanted twice the price for the same room. That wasn’t a small extra charge like at other places in the area, it was double. I’d only made the reservation a few hours earlier, but he also refused my cancellation request. I’m a businessman and understand that cancellations can hurt a business if a room is held and can’t be booked again, but this was just a couple of hours after booking, and he was turning me away or asking me to pay more than anywhere else nearby. Airbnb saw it differently and gave me a full refund. I then booked an entire apartment just steps from the beach for ten euros less than my original booking. It was with a really nice Italian family, too, not someone price-gouging tourists.

The hosts were attentive, and the location is awesome, right by the beach and just 10 minutes from the famous Scala dei Turchi.
