Punta Grande - Scala dei Turchi

This was our fourth stay at Alfredo's flat in Sicilia, and we expect to come back next year. The nature nearby and the good restaurants in Porto Empedocle are a big draw for us. We choose the place from among many options because it's just 100 m from the sea, where we can swim in the lagoon and waves, even on a fresh October morning. It's a spot in Sicilia that not many people seem to discover. The flat and porch are well kept, with a maritime feel. Cooking is the weak point: there's a stove, so no need for a campfire, but the kitchen isn't properly equipped if you actually plan to make meals. You'll need to summon your scout-camp skills.

Having private parking was a real bonus in this area, where it's essential. The apartment also had two terraces: one near the beach, a two-minute walk away, and another with a magnificent view of the Scala dei Turchi and a barbecue area. It was spacious and bright, furnished like a holiday home, and the stay exceeded our expectations. Alfredo was kind and genuinely helpful. He helped us sort out a problem over the phone while we were booking and gave us great suggestions for our stay. The only thing I wasn't keen on was the shower curtain. Very highly recommended!

The owner is very friendly and happy to suggest good restaurants and sights, and Scala dei Turchi is easy to reach from here without steps. There's private parking too. The apartment is spacious, clean, and cool, just steps from the beach, with a sea-facing terrace out front and a pergola for outdoor meals at the back. The shower is small, though.
