We had told the owner ahead of time that our flight landed at 22:30 and that we'd need a while to get to the apartment. He said “ok” and assured us he'd wait, but when we arrived he didn't appear. He canceled the booking and left us out on the street in the middle of the night. Thankfully, some very kind people in Reggio came to our aid. Booking's customer service apologized, then offered an alternative that was completely unsuitable and unacceptable. This was an absolutely unacceptable experience. The owner was unreliable and disrespectful, with no sense of responsibility.

I paid after reserving a room, but the man wouldn't let me in. He claimed he was in the hospital, though he was at a party. I waited all day for him to give me access, and by the end he said he wasn't going to.

The host was helpful and the place was nice and affordable, but it was difficult to find and there was no AC.
