Sole Mare Hotel

We paid on site, and the hotel and bar took cash only. The nearest ATM is in St. Domenica. We paid PLN 14,000 for the spacious superior room for 14 days, plus €84 for 14 days for two people as a resort fee. It had a bathroom, air conditioning, a safe, TV, and a large balcony. The water on the premises isn’t drinkable. The beach is 100 meters away, with pebbles and sand. There are kayaks, SUPs, and pedal boats for rent. A lifeguard assigns the many loungers and umbrellas on the slope by the beach. Oops, the first two rows seem more for Italians. Pool loungers were generally available. It’s a 25-minute walk to Ricadi train station, where a €1.40 train ride gets you to picturesque Tropea. The beach bar has a 1970s feel. Nearby, 100m from the beach, the modern Midenza bar has coffee, food, sea views, Stromboli on the horizon, and a relaxing atmosphere. I recommend it. The hotel has a large pool, music, aqua aerobics, a sports field, and plenty of greenery, including palms, banana trees, and olive trees. There’s evening entertainment for children on the grounds, with music and entertainment staff until midnight. A small shop and bar at the hotel serve good coffee and ice cream, and have a few things for sale. The food was very good and varied, but after the large group of Italian tourists left, the selection became much more limited. Breakfast included scrambled eggs and two slices of bacon, alternating with sausages, along with lots of sweet cakes, cookies, croissants, and a salad bar. Dinner came with delicious cake before 9 p.m., and there was good live music. For lunch and dinner, the white wine from the vending machine was passable, while the red tasted like vinegar. The machine coffee was the cheapest kind, like instant brown water. Good coffee at the bar starts at €1.50. The entertainment staff were great, but the Italian hotel staff acted as if they were there as a punishment. The hotel is far from any supermarket, such as Conad in St. Domenica. Bella Italia has good pizza. As for the 4-star rating, someone must have added at least one by mistake. Greetings to tourists from the Czech Republic.
