Al Cavallino Bianco

We cancelled our booking after less than 30 minutes in the room. We’d reserved the “Family room 2 Adults + 2 Children,” but the receptionist said the booking was only for two adults and asked for another 30 euro to “make” an extra bed. We agreed for the moment and planned to check with booking.com. The room looked nothing like the pictures: the extra bed was a small sofa with a blanket thrown over it, and the whole room was smaller than expected, dirty and smelly. The tub was stained, with what looked like mold on top, dirty jets and grime inside that I could wipe off with my finger. It also seemed to be falling apart, with an unsecured panel that let you see inside the enclosure. The floor had streaks in the corners and looked only partly cleaned with water. There was visible dust and grime on the baseboards. The bed had a stain underneath, and the sheets had holes, lint and hair. They’d tried to cover some holes with the shower robes, and other holes looked like burns. The headboard seemed not to have been cleaned in a long time. There was old food still in the dirty microwave, and grime on the side table. The white walls were stained all over. We were greeted with complimentary water and coffee, but when we left, they wanted to charge us.
