A very pleasant visit.

We booked at the last minute, mainly because the location and price worked for us. We were a bit concerned by the reviews, but a lot of them seemed false or simply didn’t match what we found. The family running the place were quite friendly. It’s a one-star hotel, so the building and furniture are dated and worn, though the doors and windows seem to have been renovated recently. Cleanliness mattered most to me, and I didn’t find dirt, dust, or hair anywhere. The towels and sheets were clean too. The pillows are very thin, and breakfast is limited, though there are sweet and savory choices. We chose half-board; the partner restaurant has some very good dishes, including pasta and mixed fried fish, but the timing and organization were only so-so. For the price and a one-star place, we didn’t have a bad experience. I’d recommend it.

For what we needed, a place to sleep and shower, it was more than adequate. We didn’t try breakfast or any other meals, so I can’t speak to those. The owners were quiet but courteous. There’s no air conditioning, but we had one of the rooms with a small balcony, and it was comfortable to sleep with the window open. The furniture was new. Maybe we were lucky, but our experience wasn’t as traumatic as some other reviewers described.

The bathroom deserves its own mention: the showerhead is right above the toilet, so showering floods the whole place. We also found a cigarette butt on the floor when we opened the room door in the afternoon, although it hadn’t been there in the morning. The room itself is about what you’d expect from a one-star hotel. Everything feels like it’s still from the 1970s, which is a shame after almost fifty years. The prices are high for what you get. Look elsewhere.
