Castello di Volognano

Margherita is a saint, and Castle Volognano felt like paradise. We spent three days there for our wedding, and the place and everyone involved were beautiful. I can’t imagine a better spot anywhere in the world. Their services, wine, and olive oil were incredible. They made our special day even more special, and I can’t say enough good things about the place.

I had the best time at a wedding here in August. The castle and grounds are absolutely gorgeous, and I’d love to stay here again ❤️

It was great having all our family together at the castle. There were 14 of us, including the kids, but the mosquitoes absolutely ate us alive. The little ones’ bites turned into big welts. We also couldn’t enjoy the pool because they couldn’t heat it for some reason, and at about 70 degrees it felt like a cold plunge. The kitchen was fully stocked, which made it nice to cook meals. We tried the meal prepared by a chef, though, and it was super expensive and not worth the cost.

The view was amazing, and Iacopo was great. Everyone in our group of nine enjoyed the stay and the wine tasting and tour. A rental car is highly recommended, but you need an international driver’s license to pick one up. Europcar didn’t tell us that, and they refused to give us the car. There’s a bus to the train station, and Google Maps helped us check the schedule, though the service was limited. We were also given the number of a local transport person, but that option is a bit pricier. I’d still highly recommend staying here.
