Acapulco Hotel Cattolica

On October 4th, there was still no response from the manager, who was supposed to call me back. I’d already tried to get in touch after learning on October 2nd that I had a 97-euro fine to pay. The owner or manager, I’m not sure which, had let me use his parking space and was meant to send the document for the ZTL, but nothing was sent. I’d only stayed from 2 am to 8 am, and even that was for one night only, because I had to collect my children for an important matter. I slept in the room my ex had booked because he was in the emergency room. My parents had driven four hours to accompany me, and I paid practically the full price for their room even though they used it for only four hours. The manager knew it was an unpleasant situation. He could at least have offered a discount, considering my ex had booked for five days and left after three because he was in the emergency room and didn’t feel safe staying with two minors. I’d say you’re not a very good manager.

Five days I’d rather forget. The place was run-down, with no maintenance or room renovations, no shower or bathroom products, and bathrooms like something from the third world. The owner was arrogant. I don’t know how they got 3 stars; I wouldn’t even call it a hostel. The cleaners and waitresses, who seemed to be the same people, couldn’t speak or understand a single word of Italian or English. If you don’t want your vacation ruined, don’t stay here.

The one thing we can praise is the location, right on the beach. For everything else, even one star is too much. We’d booked a quadruple room and a triple through Booking.com, but when we arrived, we found out the quadruple room DOESN'T EXIST!!!! He offered no alternative: either give up or make a deal. He had us cancel through Booking.com like a SCAMMER so he wouldn’t have to pay the platform commission. We had half board, and he asked what we wanted to eat. The choices were pasta without pasta, with pesto or sauce, then steak or chicken. That was it, JUST THIS, TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. We were exhausted and accepted, not knowing we wouldn’t have dinner there again. We sat down at 8:00 PM, but NONE OF THE 6 PEOPLE IN THE DINING ROOM SPOKE ITALIAN, so even explaining that my daughter IS AN ALLERGIC SUBJECT AND THEREFORE REQUIRED MAXIMUM ATTENTION was impossible. At 10:30 PM, after cold pasta, frozen raw chicken, and chips that were literally frozen, we got up and went out to eat. NEVER AGAIN!!!

The food was very good, and the manager was friendly, helpful, and always available. At breakfast and dinner he checked if everything was okay and whether he could do anything to improve our stay. When we arrived, he immediately prepared a permit for me to drive in the restricted traffic zone and offered a place to park my motorbike. I’ve spent weekends and holidays on the Romagna Riviera often over the past 25 years. The Acapulco Hotel really impressed me. I’ve read the earlier reviews, but can’t confirm or add anything negative. Maybe the management has changed. The hotel was spotless.
