The pool was a welcome escape during the sea's "dirty hours," and the reception staff were really kind and friendly. The location is good, with parking nearby. The interior felt a little dated, but everything was super clean, and the daily cleaning was done to a very high standard. With the A/C on, you can close the windows and block out the street noise. A few downsides: the bed was quite hard, breakfast had the same selection each day, and the bathroom hairdryer didn't work.

The hotel was spotless and comfortable, and the friendly staff made our 4-night stay feel easy and stress-free. We didn't hear any outside noise, and the air conditioning in the room was great. Breakfast was lovely too. You're right in the middle of the holiday area, close to the beach, restaurants, ice cream and cocktail bars, and the other things you need for a beach break. The Metromare tram/bus service is very close, and it gets you to historic Rimini centre in 10 minutes for €1.30.

We chose Hotel Gaby for a long-awaited family reunion, with relatives coming from northern and southern Germany and me flying in from Toronto, Canada. We booked two standard rooms and a room for two adults and a 3-year-old, paid in full, and included breakfast. The hotel has a 3-star rating, so we weren't expecting luxury, just decent hospitality and a comfortable stay. Instead of the room for our family, we got two regular rooms and a tiny, cramped "extension" with two small single beds and barely two feet between them. It wasn't close to what we paid for or what had been described. After the long trip, I didn't complain right away and tried to make the best of it. Breakfast was a buffet from 7:30 to 11:00 with typical continental options. We rarely get to see one another, so we sat together for 1-2 hours, like many other guests. Two days before we left, an older woman who appeared to be the owner scolded us publicly outside the breakfast area. She said we kept coming and going, changing tables, and eating "all day." That simply wasn't true, and it was humiliating. We'd only stepped out briefly to deal with a cranky toddler and use the restroom. I had two small plates, one with eggs and another with a slice of cake, plus two coffees. Nothing excessive, and the buffet wasn't busy or running low. When I tried to explain, she brushed me off and said the kitchen staff had told her. There was no apology, just more cold, disrespectful treatment. We felt like a nuisance instead of welcome guests. Are we supposed to sit down, eat quickly, and leave, like we're in a prison? The treatment completely soured the trip, and the accommodation didn't match what we'd paid for. I absolutely wouldn't recommend this hotel, especially to fellow travelers from Canada or Germany looking for a warm, respectful stay in Italy.

Communication with the staff was the main problem. They seemed disorganized and unfriendly, the room was too small, and breakfast was below average. The music from the bar next door was very loud, which is a real issue with small children. I don't recommend this place.
