Hotel Bologna

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the hosts were wonderful. I loved the genuine, tasty Italian food. The hotel is near the main street, and guests get lower fees at the beach through the hotel’s arrangement. It’s a cozy spot for a lovely holiday in Italy.

I’ve stayed in low-cost hotels before, but this was one of my worst experiences. There was dust under the bed that looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned for months. The shower was mounted so high that we had to hold the baby in our arms to wash him. At around 23:00, when apparently no one else was showering, the water did run. Earlier, after 700km on the road, I could barely wash myself because the shower was only dripping. I tried to wash my 3-year-old and the baby at the bidet, but that water barely came out either. We were told everyone was showering at that hour, which has never been a problem at the many hotels I’ve visited. We arrived for one night with two little kids. Although we had requested a cot, none was available at check-in. The room was far too small for four people. We were given just one large towel and one small face towel for two adults and two children, so apparently we were all meant to share them. We asked for our money back so we could leave, but were told they couldn’t refund a card payment because it had already been taxed. The man at reception said he didn’t know who had checked us in and that we had to wait until 20:00. I know that wasn’t true: a woman checked us in, then they switched places. While we went out to eat, they found a cot and added towels to the room: two large, two medium, and two small for four people. The cot was broken on one side and we couldn’t fix it, so the baby could easily have fallen out and hurt themself. We had to ask for the cot and the extra towels, and for basic things to be provided. I wasn’t expecting luxury, but this was outrageous. At checkout they weren’t particularly friendly. They said “good morning,” though the woman didn’t seem happy. 93€ thrown out the window. I’d never recommend this “hotel.” Three stars is waaaayyy too generous.

It was quiet and clean, with a nice terrace in front. I liked the new furniture, and it was a pleasant place to stay. One drawback: there’s no wifi in the rooms, so I used my range extender in the corridor. In the morning, you’re only allowed one cup of a hot drink.
