Hotel Carolin

This is more like a one-night hostel, not a place to stay longer. The train going past nearby is loud. Breakfast was the same all week, just two kinds of sausage and one kind of cheese. The rooms are tiny and need renovation, and the two-storey beds made me wonder if they were meant for kids or prisoners. Reading the owner's replies to other reviews, he seems to think everything at the hostel is fine and that people who write bad reviews are too scared to tell him it's bad. But no, dude, being in charge of the hostel doesn't make you God. What's okay is personal.

The rooms are basic and awkward, and some of the furniture was broken, so take pictures in case the hotel staff try to blame you for anything. The restaurant staff were very good, grazie mille! If you're on a faculty excursion, though, those room issues may not matter much.

The included breakfast is basically bread and butter, and the coffee machine either isn't set up properly or is broken, because it doesn't make good coffee. There's some kind of kindergarten close by, with kids screaming through the window, and my friends got stuck in the elevator. It's an old three-star hotel. I think it's okay for a few nights.

The rooms are small but clean, and the owner and staff are very friendly. It's close to the beach and restaurants, and the food and drinks are nice. The hotel is also near the train station, so it can get a little loud. I recommend it.
