Hotel Continental Rimini

A reasonably priced, comfortable spot right on the beach, with loads of good restaurants and shops an easy walk away. The room was comfortable and nicely equipped, and both check-in and checkout were quick and simple. I just wish there'd been a chair for the desk.

The food and staff were the best parts for me. Dinner was excellent, with plenty of tasty choices, and the pool was kept in good shape. The people at reception and the bartender were friendly. We had a sea-view room even though we hadn't asked for one, and they let us leave our bags after checkout because our flight was later that evening. I had a mixed stay. At times it felt more like a 3-star place than a 4-star one. Breakfast drinks were disappointing, either watered down or artificial, like powdered stuff. The room looked bigger in the photos and was cramped for four people, probably tight even for three. It was clean, but the bathroom barely had enough towel hooks for 3-4 guests. The shower was awkward too, with weak pressure and no handheld showerhead, so rinsing off after the beach was difficult. The ironing setup was especially disappointing. There was no iron or steamer in the room, and nowhere guests could iron clothes themselves. They charged €3 for one T-shirt and €6 for a pair of trousers. That's a lot, and I wouldn't expect it from a 4-star hotel. At Hotel Ambasciatori Rimini, part of Maximilian’s Hotels chain and positioned as a slightly more upscale option, I had a steamer in the room at no extra cost. Some clothes need special care or a particular ironing method. Without a choice, there's a real chance of damage, and the hotel would have to take responsibility. The high prices and lack of options felt below a 4-star standard. I'm not trying to leave only a negative review. These things affected the stay, and fixing them would make a real difference. The music was unbelievably loud at night and kept the neighborhood awake. Our hotel called to ask them to turn it down, and I went to their reception myself for the same reason. Nothing changed. I don't mind evening music in general, but this was far beyond a reasonable volume. Even in our sea-facing room, with the music coming from the road side, it sounded like the singer was right outside, singing acapella. A 4-star hotel? It felt more like Ballermann. I wouldn't recommend supporting a place like this. Update: The “management” accused me of posting a false review and tried to get it removed. I did stay at a nearby hotel. Nobody paid me or asked me to write this. The music really was that loud, and we couldn't sleep. The “management” doesn't accept negative reviews, as many others show.

We were there just one night, and got a very friendly welcome. Breakfast was good, parking was available, and there are excellent restaurants nearby.
