The meals were tasty and there was plenty of variety, so we got to try different Italian dishes. There was almost too much to finish 😅. The staff were kind and attentive, and the beachside location with sea views from the roof terrace made it a lovely place to unwind in summer. I was there with my class for four nights and really enjoyed it. Our room did look dated, though, and hadn't been cleaned properly on the first day. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for beach time and local food.

Room 128 is worth asking for if it's available. It has the best view and sits right by the rooftop. We spent three days here, and the hotel worked well as a base for the beach or a hike. Breakfast was fine too. Parking nearby is nearly impossible, especially with a big van, so it's better to stay on the main road.

The terrace drinks were cheap, and breakfast was good. The staff were really polite, and the hotel is near a free beach and a supermarket. There's a cash-only ferry to the other side of the city, plus plenty of scooters and e-bikes around for getting about. I'd happily come back.

The bathroom was a little cramped, but everything else made for a lovely stay at Hotel River. Our room was really good, the bed was comfortable, and the view from the window and terrace was exquisite. Breakfast and dinner were fabulous, and the staff were kind and helpful. We're especially grateful to Michelangelo, who helped us enjoy our final dinner at the hotel and still catch our plane afterward. Grazie mille!

The hotel's idea of innovation was putting the toilet in the shower. At least I could wash my toes while peeing. And that delicious unripe melon with parmaham tasted like cardboard and felt like my tires.
