Hotel del Sole

The location was perfect, with easy parking if you're driving. Enrico was incredibly helpful and talked us through seeing the five towns. Our room was spacious and very clean, with soft towels. Breakfast was light and simple, just what we wanted, and delicious. The only downsides were small personal things. I wanted ice, which is hard to find anywhere in Italy, and the Wi-Fi was weak and dropped out one night. Those didn't matter much to us, and we'd happily return and recommend the place.

The two people running Hotel del Sole were kind and knew a lot about the area. Breakfast was generous, with fruit, yogurt, toast, meats, cheeses, pastries, and coffee. The room was a typical hotel room, and the tiles showed a little wear, but we felt safe and were glad we stayed. It's higher up the hill, which meant fewer crowds at night. Be sure to have your luggage transported to the hotel, as it's a bit of a walk.

The staff were friendly and keen to help with our itinerary, and their suggestions were great. We had a very pleasant stay, with a simple but spotless room, great service, and a perfect breakfast. The center of town is only a few minutes away on foot, and the private parking lot on site was so convenient. We really enjoyed it and would gladly stay again. Highly recommend.

The owner was lovely and gave us useful advice about restaurants, viewpoints, and getting around the villages. Breakfast was included, with the usual pastries, cereal, and fruit, plenty to start the day. Although it's a two-star place, the rooms were clean and functional, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting cinque terre. There's parking on the premises if you ask ahead and pay a fee. The downside is the distance from Rio Maggiore station: it's a long uphill hike with luggage. There are only stairs up to the rooms too, so be prepared for the climb.
