Hotel Villa Argentina

The hotel and its location are beautiful, and the staff were lovely. Our room was clean and a good size. It’s difficult to reach on foot, but the view and the hotel itself make it worthwhile.

We only stayed one night, but the room was spacious and had everything we needed. The walls are thin, so you can hear the neighbours. Breakfast came with the stay. There wasn’t a huge selection, but we enjoyed the local pastries. Prices seemed reasonable for Cinque Terre and this location. The hotel is up a hill, which shouldn’t be much trouble if you’re reasonably fit. Private parking was a big plus, and I especially appreciated how quickly they answered my many emails with questions before the trip.

The uphill walk took about 20 minutes and was good cardio, but the view made it completely worth it. I spent the whole evening sitting peacefully on my balcony. The air conditioning was great, and everything was simple, with good communication and a nice breakfast. Lovely service too. I’d come back in a heartbeat!

Helpful staff, reliable WiFi, and easy access to the village by National Parks bus, which stops right outside for a small fare. Ask and it will stop at the hotel on the return trip, too. There are secure parking spaces nearby, but they’re tight. The hotel sits on the hillside above RioMaggiore, and two lifts nearby make it easy to reach town and the railway station. The rooms were spotless and had everything apart from tea and coffee making facilities. All the floors, including in the bedrooms, are tiled. The compact bathroom was modern and practical. Breakfast was continental with enough choice, and the coffee was good and hot. It got a little noisy at night with people coming home late, perhaps a bit relaxed. Staff spoke English far better than I speak Italian, thankfully.
