The host was extremely friendly, check-in went smoothly, and the AC handled the 40C heat outside very well. The hotel is right in the centre, and the pizza place downstairs was pretty good. I had quite a few slices. There were several things that made the stay less comfortable. The stairs felt precarious while carrying two bags, and I hadn't realized how steep they were when booking. The bathroom door was so ineffective that using the bathroom with my partner in the bedroom felt very uncomfortable. When we first opened the bed, there was gravel or some kind of dirt in the sheets (picture), and the bedside lamp had some questionable stains (picture). The fridge barely seemed to cool anything, even on max. The soap sachets were a cute idea but impractical: none of the four had an opening slit, so I had to open them with my teeth during a shower. Not comfortable, and not tasty.

Andrea sent us all the instructions we needed, though we never got to meet him. The room had been renovated, was clean, and sat on the third floor with a window looking onto the main street. The shower was nice, and the location is right in the middle of Riomaggiore. There's a breakfast spot downstairs, along with La Lampara, where we had a delicious meal. We had a great experience!

Our room was comfortable, though it was just one room with an ensuite. The owners have several rooms, so what you get can vary. There are stairs, and the streets are steep too. Pack light for Italy.

The climb up is a bit of a workout, though that's no surprise in cinque terre. The room was beautiful, and the owner was super nice and quick to answer questions. We got plenty of useful tips on places to visit, getting around, and where to eat. I highly recommend staying here!
