Ambassador Suite Hotel

The staff seemed a little irritated when we arrived late. They told us that if we didn’t get there by 12 noon, the hotel would be closed and we wouldn’t be able to check in. That’s no way to welcome guests. The hotel is in a great spot with mountain views, and the rooms are very nice and clean. Breakfast had a wide variety of food. Everything else was excellent.

The room was quite small and had no balcony, but the air conditioning worked well, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was pretty nice with good privacy. The hotel is in a great location and there wasn’t really anything wrong, but a few things bothered me. Reception and the lobby are closed off late at night, so you have to go into the stairwell. It felt a bit soulless and grim. If, like me, you sometimes can’t sleep and sit in the lobby at night, you can’t do that here. That’s why I gave service only 2. Apart from that, the staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was packed and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. The scrambled eggs ran out every day and seemed to take ten minutes to refill, by which point I’d given up and just had toast with jam. There’s only one coffee machine, so there was a queue each morning while someone made coffee for ten people. Most places have two machines. Surely they can add another.

The staff were really nice, and the location was good. The rooms are cosy, even if they aren't very big.

The room was spacious and had a balcony, and the rooftop gym was well equipped. There was also a book library. Breakfast was the letdown: the food and coffee were terrible, and I hadn't expected to pay extra for pool towels. Good value, though I'd expect a low quality hotel.
