Chalet Il Camoscio

We made a last-minute reservation at this restaurant in Rovere and were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, with fresh ingredients and carefully prepared dishes, and the staff were friendly. The atmosphere felt welcoming too. For a restaurant that's only recently opened, things are already well organized. Definitely worth considering.

We paid €400.00 for two nights for two adults and a child. They asked for a 30% pre-authorization when we booked, but charged 50% instead, which didn't feel fair. We also weren't told beforehand that it was a hostel, with a bunk-bed room, an old bathroom with crumbling fixtures, and water that came and went. If we'd just been told, we would have chosen...

Rovere has several trails heading into the surrounding mountains, and you can easily drive to Ovindoli or Rocca di Mezzo. The hostel sits in the lovely center of the village, where the paths climb up the mountain, though you can reach the entrance by car. My accessible room was spacious and comfortable for my needs, with a beautiful view. The people running the hostel were very helpful, and breakfast was good, with both savory and sweet pastries. I stayed two nights, but the room wasn't cleaned after the first night.

Sara, who runs the hostel, was amazing, friendly, and always available. The location is great if you want peace and quiet while still having everything close by on foot, from restaurants to ski lifts. Excellent value for money, perfect in every way.
