The owners were so welcoming and kind. Breakfast was delicious each morning, with homemade cakes and savory food. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, with beautiful views of Rome. Best place to stay.

The hosts made exploring the area easier by offering to drop me in nearby towns and pick me up elsewhere, so I could walk between places. There’s plenty of history here, dating back more than 2,000 years, with hikes up Monte Cavo, from Nemi to Castel Gandolfo, and visits to other nearby villas. Breakfast was much more than I expected: yogurt, fruit, sweet cakes, bruschetta or panini, plus espresso or tea. The host served it personally every morning and was careful to make sure I was having the experience I wanted. My room was supremely comfortable, with lovely details like slippers and plenty of soft towels. The bed was cozy, and it was so quiet that you wouldn’t believe bustling Rome is only 20km away. The view from the window or dining room balcony is majestic, with the lake, valley, and mountain sometimes crystal clear and sometimes hidden in bird-filled clouds. It feels like being in a prince or princess’s tower above it all. A little square is just a minute’s walk away, and Polentone is another minute beyond that. Its polenta with three flavors is worth the trip by itself. Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway or work, I highly recommend staying here. Your search around Rocca di Papa can end here. I don’t think there’s a better option, and anyone who picks this B&B is lucky to have the experience.
