Everything was great, from the tasty food to the very good service. There wasn't much choice for dairy-free dishes, though.

The owner was so friendly, and the food was top-notch, with wines from his own winery. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the quiet setting is surrounded by greenery.

This felt like an impersonal restaurant with a lot of shortcomings. One person was handling all the rooms. The gourmet appetizer for two was five individual courses, which left me wondering. The local wine was sold as high-performance biodynamic, and the sliced meat was a heap of scraps and fat, though it was a single piece of meat. Calling it amateurish and random is almost too generous. Then there was the price. In a village in the provinces... what?

Roccagloriosa and the historic inland area made a great base for exploring lower Cilento, as well as the beaches at Scario, Palinuro, and Marina di Camerota. The B&B itself was welcoming and comfortable, with lovely rooms, pretty balconies, beautiful views, and everything needed for a peaceful stay. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and breakfast was excellent. Chef and owner Vincenzo was delightful. He has international experience and cooks excellent traditional local dishes with his own skillful twist, along with fantastic meat. The T-bone and sliced steak practically melted in my mouth, and the meat comes directly from Tuscan Chianina cattle farms. We also had excellent Aglianico and Fiano wines from the property.
