LVRESIDENCE

Noisy.

The location was the one good thing. The sea view and places to visit are a couple of kilometers away. At the property, the automatic gate was broken, so we had to open and close it by hand. For two people over three days, there was just one roll of toilet paper; I asked for more and got no answer. There was no towel rack or even a coat hook, no kettle for tea or coffee, and the minibar was empty, without even a bottle of water. The bed squeaked.

I booked a triple room through a well-known booking service, then the hotel contacted me just two days before arrival to change it to a double. Unacceptable. They showed little empathy and spoke unpleasantly to the customer who had been affected, blaming an operator for not passing the information along in time. That shouldn't matter to the customer. A polite manner, a calm conversation, or perhaps a small gesture to make up for the unfair situation could have helped. None of that happened.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and especially quiet, so I slept really well. The staff were great. This residence is a little way outside Catanzaro Lido, though it is close to the sea. The downside is that breakfast isn't provided, and the nearest bar is not easy to get to. Well done!
