Our experience had already gone badly before we arrived. The person handling the first WhatsApp messages was condescending when I politely asked about check-in, since booking.com listed it as starting at 9:30am and that’s where I booked. They kept asking whether I’d ever stayed at a hotel with guaranteed check-in before 2pm, and suggested I should have used common sense instead of trusting the website. The listed time being wrong wasn’t my fault. They never apologized or even said thank you. We also asked several times to borrow the included iron, but it was never found or brought to us. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

We were told only the day before arrival that checking in around 9pm would cost 50 Euros. We’d given the staff that arrival time when booking back in January, but nobody mentioned a fee then. They refused to send the check-in details until we paid in full, explaining that the charge was for staffing. In the end, they sent generic instructions and entry codes by text, so we couldn’t see why the fee was needed. Since they only told us the day before, cancelling would have meant paying the full amount. Had we known earlier, we wouldn’t have stayed. When we raised it with the receptionist, she agreed the fee arrangement wasn’t right and said they deliberately tell guests late so they have to pay. We were then told we’d get our money back if we “wrote a 5 star review”. We felt blackmailed into leaving a five-star review just to recover the fee. It was disgusting, and we won’t return. We booked under my partner’s name, not mine. Don’t believe them if they say this isn’t genuine !!!!

There’s no elevator, which I hadn’t expected. We had to haul our luggage up to the third floor, and it was physically difficult as well as inconvenient. I’m grateful to the front desk staff member who helped us; her kindness made a real difference. Still, this could be a serious problem for guests with mobility issues or heavy bags.

Good value for the location, and the staff were friendly, but they were very forgetful. We appreciated being upgraded, though nobody told us. The booking had been moved to another place without our knowing, so we wasted a lot of time trying to find the original address and calling from the wrong location. Once we got into the hotel, they said they’d forgotten to let us know. Another time, a staff member came into our room while we were asleep in the afternoon. I was really frightened when I realized someone had opened the door. Reception apologized and said they’d forgotten we were in the room. That made me uneasy about leaving my belongings there, since someone might just come in.
