Albergo Stadler

It was the cheapest hotel in Rome that week, so the room was fine for the price. It got really hot, though. There was AC, but we didn't have the remote, and I never got around to asking reception for it. Being right by the trains made it easy to get to the airport.

It's 12:30am and I'm still awake, even though I've been up since 4:20am yesterday for an early flight. People are shouting at each other in the hallway outside my room, and management aren't doing anything about it. The road outside is noisy too, but I could have managed that. I was sent here after booking Hotel Gabriele around the corner, because they'd forgotten my reservation. This room has a shared toilet, and with all that yelling I'm not going out in my nightie. I desperately need sleep and can't get any. I'm thinking about getting dressed and finding another hotel. It's that bad.

The rooms were dirty, and at 8:30 the next morning the receptionist woke us by banging on the door, even though checkout was at 11. We'd emailed and got approval to arrive late, but when we showed up she refused to let us in. After a long discussion where she shouted in Italian, we finally got a room.

I felt unsafe here, like I was in a prison, and this was the worst place I've ever stayed. The receptionist woke us early for no reason; when we opened the door, she let us go back to sleep until checkout. She was rude and unwelcoming and didn't know any English. Our room was dirty, the bed and pillows were uncomfortable, and there was no hot water in the shower. I strongly wouldn't recommend staying here.
