The area has plenty of places to eat and shop, and public transport is very close. It’s also a good spot for an early trip to Vatican City. Our hosts were lovely and accommodating, and made us feel comfortable throughout. Breakfast each morning was perfect.

Leticia and Chiara were wonderful hosts, warm and friendly, and kept our room very clean. We had a great four-night stay, despite some earlier reviews saying otherwise. The room was a good size for two, and the bathroom was always clean. We’d heard about thin walls, and they weren’t the thickest, but we didn’t hear our neighbors or outside noise. Breakfast was really good, with bread, jam, granola, yogurt, cheese, meat, crackers, fresh cakes, juice, tea, and coffee. The location is great, right by the Vatican and saint Peter’s, with good metro and bus connections elsewhere and lots of excellent restaurants nearby. We’d definitely come back. Thanks for everything!

This works well for a Vatican visit. The Vatican museum entrance is a five-minute walk, and other parts of Rome are easy to reach by metro. The nearest stop was closed for repairs during our visit in August '24. It’s a shared apartment with three rooms, each with a private bedroom and bathroom or shower, plus a shared kitchen. The rooms were clean and functional, and the staff were very friendly about cleaning and changing towels when needed. The bathroom and shower were fine, and the air conditioning worked very well. Breakfast was basic: charcuterie, jam, pastries, yogurt, juice, and coffee or tea. A very kind lady prepared it in the mornings. On a few early starts, we could take what we wanted from the kitchen. Our room had very sparse decor and harsh lighting, so it didn’t feel very homely. Since the rooms open onto a small corridor and the walls and doors are thin, sounds from people moving or talking in the corridor or kitchen carry clearly. The bed springs creaked and groaned endlessly. If you’re sensitive to that, or happen to get loud neighbors, it could be annoying. The picture is of the inside courtyard, not a bedroom view.

The breakfast lady was an absolute gem. She was lovely and kind, remembered our tea and coffee preferences, and went to a lot of effort to make us feel welcome. If we had an early tour, she prepared breakfast for us to take to our room. Each day she checked whether we wanted the room cleaned or needed extra toiletries. I can’t fault her. The breakfast itself was nice, with muesli, yogurts, fresh bread, ham, cheese, jams, juice, and cakes. The room pictures felt misleading. Looking closer, I noticed they’d been taken from the corridor and inside the shower to make the room look bigger. The bathroom was especially small: you could reach the sink while sitting on the toilet, and I often turned off the shower by accident while using it. The locks need changing too, since someone can open a door from the corridor unless it’s physically locked, and people can see through the locks into the room. I’d have preferred the balcony and Vatican wall view shown in the pictures, especially as we stayed seven nights while some guests were there for only one or two and might not have appreciated it as much. Our room looked onto the courtyard, which was in disrepair. I’d also recommend changing the person who checks guests in. We found Susanna cold and hostile, which wasn’t great since it was my partner’s first time in a foreign country. The stay had its nice parts, but these issues are why I gave three stars and no less.

We had a wonderful night at Allegra's house. We’re a family from Palermo (Sicily ) who have been living in Australia since 2016, with an 11-year-old son. The hotel is clean and nice, not too big, but it has what you need and feels like home. Staff are gentle and kind, and will share tips for seeing Rome and where to eat. It’s very close to the Vatican, and you can visit Rome on foot from there. Enjoy! Salvo and Maria
