Rodolfo and the other staff were really friendly and helpful, and our room was spacious and very, very clean. The Vatican City is only about a four-minute walk away. Shops, bars, and restaurants are nearby too, with a metro station close by. I chose to walk everywhere, and it was easy to cross the road for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

The room was comfortable and felt worthy of a three-star hotel, with a mini fridge and a nice bathroom with a shower and toilet. We contacted Amalia because of the good reviews, and Rodolfo's kindness and welcome pleasantly surprised us. The staff were lovely, and everything is close by, including restaurants, a supermarket, monuments, and the Vatican just steps away. Thanks, Rodolfo, for being so welcoming and kind. We hope to come back.

The quieter neighborhood, with local shops and restaurants, is about an eight-minute walk from the Vatican. At check-in they gave our room to someone else and couldn't work out why. Turns out they hadn't compared the reservation surname with the passport, lol. The staff were accommodating, though, and since we were celebrating our engagement, they surprised us with a cake and wine. Such a thoughtful gesture! The room was very clean apart from the drainage, but the furniture and bedding were pretty old and dated. The sink and shower drained really poorly, which was gross when brushing my teeth and seeing what I'd just spat out. It went down very slowly. There was hardly any ventilation, so the towels wouldn't dry, and a couple of bugs kept flying in when we opened the window for fresh air. There is an elevator, which was nice. Breakfast service has stopped.

The shower was my son's favorite part, and we were pleased with the restaurant recommendations. We also needed help getting to the airport, and the hotel arranged it. The continental breakfast was delicious, and Vatican City is a five to ten minute walk away. We were looking for a good hotel near the Vatican for three people and found this a wonderful small place with personal service. A great choice if that's what you're after.

Rodolfo deserves a special thanks. He gave us a very kind welcome, explained everything we needed to know, and had a bottle of wine waiting in our room as a welcome drink for the first night. We were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel is lovely, the room was beautiful, and the location is perfect.
