Angel Spagna Suite

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was nice. It had everything we needed for a city break, even though it wasn’t luxurious. The building itself is lovely, and I’d come back. I visited with my sister during half term. The location is phenomenal, right by the Spanish steps and within a 20-minute walk of any site in the city. One thing to know: the lock on the second internal door is difficult to open.

We loved our weekend here. Our room was clean and roomy enough for me, my husband, and our son. The central location made it easy to walk to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and other historical sites.

The location was the only good part for me. The room needed a lot of attention: some lights were broken, the bidets in the toilet leaked, there was a strange buzzing noise, and the Wi-Fi kept disconnecting. With no physical reception, WhatsApp was the only way to contact the staff. They left me on read and seemed to pretend not to understand when I raised the problems.

The location was great, but the internet was a big problem. For the first three of our five days, we had no internet, even in the shared area. The manager gave us a different explanation each day, and eventually we found out they’d given us the wrong password. It felt like they were misleading us. There was no usable internet signal in the room either. We were there in August, when it was 40°C, and the air conditioner didn’t work properly. Breakfast also fell short of what we expected. It wasn’t really a buffet with much choice, just one kind of cheese, one kind of ham, butter, and toast. We had to ask the server each time for coffee and toast.
