Angolo Di Roma

The ceiling fans kept things cool and comfortable while we had lunch at VR, where we stopped during a walk around Piazza Navona. We shared a pizza and pasta, both quite tasty, and the waiter was quick and kind. The 750ml bottle of water cost 5€, and prices overall seemed normal for the location and lovely view. We’d choose this restaurant again on our next visit to Rome.

The location was okay, though it’s quite far from vaticaan. The room was nice and clean, but there wasn’t any service. Breakfast was only a basket of pre packed cookies and pieces of cake, with no coffee.

We stayed here years ago, and the rooms have clearly been upgraded since then, but the experience still wasn’t great. The bed was hard and its metal springs dug into us. The fridge kept switching on and off during the night, and we had to ask for extra towels. Nobody replenished the toilet paper when it was running low, so on our last day we had to use paper hankies. Breakfast was disappointing, just dry prepackaged croissants and muffins. We ended up going to the authentic Roman bar around the corner instead, which we highly recommend. Maybe they could offer coupons for that bar again, rather than making so much plastic waste with individually wrapped, tasteless food.

The owner was polite and helpful, and the cleaning service was good. Our room was clean and had just the furniture we needed, with nice decor for movie fans, though it was a bit small for two. The bathroom furnishings looked a little shabby, and there was no shampoo or body wash. The only view was of the back yard, and the sound insulation wasn’t good, so we could hear people walking overhead. It’s a nice, quiet neighborhood with a metro station very close by. There are good cafes and restaurants just around the corner.
