I left after one night and had to start a complaint with my Visa card to try to get my money back. The owner called and said she would keep the difference for her trouble, which was ridiculous. At checkout, reception refused to return my deposit or offer any discount for the bad night, even though I'd told them within a few hours of booking that I was leaving the next morning. They also backed away from refunding the stay tax I was exempt from, saying it had already been deducted when it hadn't. I'd arrived on the 02/01 planning to stay a few days, and agreed to put two days' worth on my credit card as a deposit when I checked in. My room was one of the small bungalows in the courtyard. It was very basic, with an uncomfortable, cheap spring mattress that felt harder than marble. After dinner at their restaurant, where the service and food quality were fine, I found the toilet flush was broken. Reception sent a handyman around 10 pm, and the very small toilet clearly needed an urgent upgrade. I decided to find somewhere else at the same price with more modern, comfortable rooms. The place itself is lovely, but the buildings, rooms, and courtyard badly need restoration. It looks shabby next to nearby competitors. The rooms have little or no decor and feel more like highway motel rooms than a tourist hotel. There are plenty of better nearby options for the same price with much kinder service. I wish I could give a better review, since I had high hopes after finding it online.
