Arco del Lauro Bed & Breakfast

Daniela, the building manager, communicated really well, answered all our questions and gave helpful recommendations. She even helped arrange a taxi to the airport at a fair price for our departure. We spent 5 nights in a superior room that was immaculate, with a cute view of the building’s patio and rooftops. We chose the breakfast option and enjoyed it. It’s served at a separate restaurant a short walk away. The bed was two small twins that kept separating and leaving a gap in the middle. I noticed that setup seems common in European hotels. Also, there’s no elevator for the higher floors. We knew that in advance because the hotel told us, but hauling our luggage up 4 flights of stairs still wasn’t great. 😅 Trastevere is beautiful and super lively, while the hotel itself is in a quieter part that was good for sleeping. Downtown proper was just a short walk away. I’d definitely stay again, 5/5.

Danielle, who runs the B&B, was kind, helpful and communicative throughout, which made everything easy and welcoming. The space was clean, classy and simple, with the comfort we needed and great value for the price. Nothing overly fancy. They also offer laundry service for 15 euros, a convenient perk. It was an excellent base for exploring Rome. The main sights were an easy walk away, and amazing restaurants were just a couple of blocks from the B&B. We especially liked being in a quieter part of Trastevere, still close to everything. Areas closer to Piazza Trilussa can get pretty lively, while this spot felt calm. We had a wonderful stay at Arco del Lauro B&B and would absolutely come back.

We had a wonderful stay in the Sunshine room. It was a good size, with enough space for us to be comfortable, and the bed was super comfortable. The AC held the room at 22c, and the WC was fine. The shower drain was slow, though. I think it just needs to be cleaned out. Breakfast is served at a cafe around the corner, about a 3 min walk away. There’s also a shared kitchen area with an electric kettle, french press, instant coffee, tea, cookies and sweets, plus a fridge for snacks and leftovers. The location is excellent, close to lots of places to eat, drink and see, along with several small grocery stores for odds and ends, and wine!

After spending time surrounded by Rome’s history, it was a relief to wind down in a bright, newly renovated room that felt simple and modern. Ours was one of the new superior rooms upstairs, and it was quiet and comfortable for sleeping. The stairs were two or three flights, but I liked the more local feel, and there was a great meal to earn just around the corner. The host was lovely, talked us through how things worked, shared a useful restaurant list, and arranged a car to the airport. They also emailed ahead to ask our arrival time, since the office is only open during standard hours. Getting there by taxi from the train station was reasonable at 15 euros. This was our last stop before flying home, and I wanted a different Rome experience from when I first arrived and stayed near Tremini Train Station. I’d stay here again. I gave four stars because some hotel guests may be caught off guard by the stairs, lack of an elevator, or no evening front desk. If you’re after a quieter, more neighborhood-style stay, though, this is a lovely spot.
