B6 Piazzetta Margutta - B6 - My Extra Home

We spent a week here in September 2025, and the apartment was spacious, private, and QUIET. Even though it was beside the restaurant kitchen and the first bedroom looked onto the courtyard, we barely heard anything during our 6 nights. The courtyard stayed peaceful, and the occasional voices were usually guests coming or going next door. The locked main gate at night and another gate for our wing also gave us peace of mind. The ride from the airport went smoothly. We booked roundtrip transfers by email for 65 euros a way, paid in cash. A professional driver messaged when we landed and met us after baggage pickup in a very clean Mercedes Van. The return pickup never arrived, even though the property had confirmed it at check-in. It was VERY frustrating. Someone happened to be in the office, which isn’t always staffed, and called the transfer company after it was already 30 minutes late. They ended up booking us a FreeNow taxi for the same price, which was lucky since the property couldn’t guarantee that price themselves. The issue seemed to be with their Taxi partner, not the property. There’s a staffed office on site, which made check-in and getting help easy. The place is listed as Piazzetta Margutta (T2), but once inside the property the apartment is called A1/1. Despite the confusing names, it matched the photos and worked perfectly for us. Shops, restaurants, and grocery stores like Carrefour are close, and we especially liked Brillo, just a minute away. Spanish Steps, Trevi, and Pantheon were all an easy walk. The beds were extremely comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised to find they were Queen size. The showers were a dream, with rainfall heads. There was plenty of heating throughout, and the AC worked well with a unit in each bedroom and one in the living room. Wi-Fi was fast, the smart TVs in each bedroom and the living room were handy, and there was a JBL speaker in the dining area. We didn’t use the washer/dryer, but it came with plenty of detergent. The kitchen is small but cleverly laid out and functional, with lots of utensils, pans, cups, and tableware tucked away. The cups were mostly espresso and cappuccino sized, so I wish there had been larger ones. There were plenty of dishwasher pods too. One annoyance was that a previous guest had broken the freezer door, so we had to rig something to keep it closed and stop items in the fridge from freezing. The small rubbish bins filled quickly. We were told to leave bags outside the door for morning collection, but they were never picked up. Thankfully, we caught the rubbish collection a few times.

The apartment is spotless, with good mattresses, sheets, and towels. It has plenty of space, a separate patio, and a lovely courtyard where you can catch a breeze. It looked even better in person than in the photos from My Extra Home. We loved the washer dryer, and the AC, which wasn’t working when we arrived, was fixed within 15 minutes and then got ice cold. The street is tiny, quiet, and very upscale, and security is great. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy, and management replied quickly to our WhatsApp questions. The listing didn’t show that the layout was split level, which wasn’t a big deal, but I’d try for a unit that isn’t split level. 10/10 recommend.

The mattress made this stay in apartment B-6 a big disappointment. It was old and dipped badly in the middle, causing severe back pain for both of us and limiting what we could do. We told the office staff, and they replaced it, but the new one was just as lumpy and unsupportive. Because of the back pain, lost sleep, and other hassles, we won’t return and personally can’t recommend this place. It was extremely warm inside, with temperatures outside ranging from the mid-50s to the 70s. The AC didn’t work, and we were told only the heating system was available at that time of year, not both heat and air. We opened the windows, but the street noise kept us awake every night. After we told the office we were too hot and losing sleep, they brought us a fan. We also got only three towels for the whole week and were expected to wash them ourselves if we needed more. There were no paper products in the kitchen and very little toilet paper in the bathrooms. Rome itself was wonderful, but these accommodations had a real impact on our comfort and kept us from carrying out the plans we’d made before the trip.

Everything being close by made getting around easy, from restaurants and cozy cafés to shopping areas. The place also felt safe and comfortable, which made the trip more relaxing. I really enjoyed staying here. Definitely a great choice for a visit to Rome!
