I couldn’t wait to leave. We were booked for three nights, but after one night we got out and found somewhere else for the remaining two. We had to spend the first four hours after arriving trying to find another place, and unfortunately stayed that first night. We both woke up with sore throats. There was so much black mold that I felt like I could taste it. The sink was covered in hair and looked barely cleaned, if it had been cleaned at all. I could have put up with dirt, but the mold was unreal. If this were in the US, she’d be in jail for putting anyone through that. It felt like an unbelievable level of negligence and a lack of compassion. Her response was, “why not reach out and tell me so I can offer you something else”. No way. If that place was like this, I can’t imagine the next one being any better. Most disgusting place I’ve ever seen.

There was a bit of a “sewer funk” the whole time, and we could hear scaffolding being put together at 7am. A local also shouted at us. Still, somehow all of that added to the place’s charm!

I booked two apartments. They were clean and had good mattresses and excellent air conditioning. The suite was fine for a short stay, but its rooms didn’t offer much privacy, and it had too few closets and not enough light.

The location is the only positive for me. The apartment felt very old and completely unrenovated, and I wouldn’t stay here again. The beds were so uncomfortable I kept waking up, and after that I couldn’t get comfortable. The bathroom was tiny. At 1.90 meters tall, my head hit a beam, and the shower came only up to my chest.
