Barberini Enchanting Terrace Apartment

The breakfast staff were genuinely kind and helpful, and they had nothing to do with the bad parts of our stay. It was 1 AM and the room was still unbearably hot. The AC either didn't work or was fake: the light was green, the thermostat way down, and the unit said it was running, but no air came out of the fan. The room felt even hotter than outside, around 90°F. We faced a wall, so there was no air from outside either. We called downstairs over and over until nobody answered, then went to the front desk in person. Nobody came to fix it. I expect they'll say this never happened or try to mitigate it. I should have read the negative reviews first. The walls and doors were paper thin, and I heard everything from neighboring rooms all night. The room was tiny, the “view” was basically a roof, and the bed creaked loudly every time I moved. Dinner took hours just to get the food and pay the bill. The front desk and night staff seemed untrained and dismissive when there was a problem, very different from the breakfast team. I stay in hotels constantly and am usually understanding, but this was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I've had in years. With the heat, noise, lack of response, and poor service, the place felt more like a bad hostel than a hotel.

The staff at this beautiful, family-run hotel were amazing and helpful, and nothing felt like too much trouble. It's well situated, not far from the main attractions and restaurants. Our room had a small fridge, and there was a little shop about 400 metres away, so stocking up was easy. We were lucky to find a bottle of fizz in the room too, a nice touch. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was great. We'd definitely stay again.

Every staff member we spoke with was incredibly nice, and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The showers got nice and hot. It made our honeymoon special, and neither my wife nor I had anything to complain about!

The staff were polite and the hotel was centrally located, but there was very little else to like. Our room window faced an air-conditioning unit and the backs of neighboring buildings, with no sunlight at all. The doors barely blocked sound, so we could hear everything constantly, including the guests next door and even their toilet. It made resting impossible. We told the staff we were unhappy with the room, but they said it was the only option unless we paid an extra €50 per night for a room with a real street view. Nobody checked in after we arrived to see if things were satisfactory. We also couldn't adjust the air conditioning or heating ourselves. To change the temperature, we had to call reception, which was very inconvenient and unreasonable. A very disappointing stay. I wouldn't recommend or book this hotel.
