BB Domus Ubaldi

My first day at B&B Domus Ubaldi went really well. Simone was friendly and kind, and gave us ideas for what to see and do in Roma. I'm sure the next days will be just as lovely. I'd definitely recommend this B&B.

The manager was incredibly rude. When the shower flooded my room, he said I was lying instead of apologizing. Later, when we argued over a slight delay at checkout, he made violent threats. The shower leaked badly, and the room flooded. The balcony window was sealed shut, so I couldn't even get fresh air. The bathroom had no basic items such as shampoo or a bidet. In the shared kitchenette, there was a coffee machine but no pods, and no breakfast service, despite the place calling itself a bed and breakfast. The room was cramped and had an old, very squeaky bed, a chair, and no table, counter, or space on the floor. The property seems poor quality. They wouldn't take card payments, despite Booking.com saying they did, and I lost the discount as a result. Poor quality might be acceptable at a low price, but the value for money here is basically zero. For the same price, you can find something decent, or something just as disgusting for a reasonable price. Absolutely not recommended. Don't make my mistake and book here. If you already have, "abandon all hope, ye who enter here."

The staff were friendly, but the house keys almost never worked. We could only get in or out with help, otherwise we were stuck inside or locked out. The room was heated poorly by the air conditioning because there was no central heating, the bathroom was cold, and the bed linens were thin. I caught a cold. We left early and paid double for our return flight. Never again Domus Ubaldi.

The staff were young, welcoming, friendly, and available whenever we needed information about transport or anything else. The place was comfortable and well connected, near the Cornelia and Baldo degli Ubaldi metro stations and a bus stop. There are lots of restaurants and supermarkets nearby.
