The room itself was pleasant and clean, and the location was fairly central, about a five-minute walk from the train station. It's an apartment with two bedrooms, but the service brought the rating down to four stars for the room and maybe one or two for service. Communication was a struggle. The owner invited us to ask questions at check-in, but didn't reply to our messages about paying the tourist tax. We wrote at 9:00 AM and heard back at 5:30 PM, with a request to message when we arrived. I said we'd be there at 6:00 PM and messaged as asked, then waited an hour before calling because nobody answered. Getting our luggage was just as stressful. We had told her the day before we'd return around 6:00 PM, and she asked us to give 15 minutes' notice. An hour before, she asked what time we were coming, though we'd already told her. Then nothing. We'd left the keys in the morning, and when we came back, nobody answered for several minutes. We were stuck outside without our luggage and no explanation. A quick "I'll be there in a few minutes" would've been much less anxiety-inducing when we had a flight to catch. There were other confusing things too. We booked Romebest Termini through Booking.com, but on arrival she asked us to cancel because the place was changing its name to Amara Romebest and was supposedly brand new. Yet there was already a five-star review with no comments, dated four months earlier, for somewhere that had opened less than a week before. Spot the mistake! The replacement booking was made outside Booking.com, leaving us without protection if anything went wrong. In short, some things didn't add up.
