We ended up leaving and booking somewhere else after the toilet leaked across the tiny bathroom when some of us tried to use it before going out. We hadn't put anything in it, and it seemed the pump wasn't working. When we contacted the woman who had shown us around, she blamed us and said she couldn't do anything until the next day. The way she handled it was completely wrong, especially if she cared about her reputation and guests. It spoiled our first impression of Rome. Communication with the host had been difficult from the start. On arrival day she rushed through a brief look around the apartment, warned us not to put paper in the toilet because it clogged immediately, then left without really showing us the parking, despite our having specifically asked for it. The apartment was a little small for four, and there was no bedding for the third foldable bed. A couple of snacks and cookies were left on the table for breakfast. Those things were more or less fine, but the toilet situation wasn't.

The lady was rude and unprofessional throughout, treating us as if we were interrupting her football match. We booked a family room meant to have two double beds and one twin, but there was no twin bed. Within an hour of arriving, the toilet broke and flooded the place. We only urinated and hadn't put anything in it, yet when we contacted her she threatened to charge us for repairs. One star is already too generous. The whole operation felt like a scam.

Free parking doesn't exist here, and finding a space near the Vatican is impossible. The included breakfast was cheap sweet junk food, not a real full breakfast as advertised. The bathroom door doesn't close all the way, so there's no privacy. The toilet is cobbled together with a water pump that isn't even meant for toilets. Not a good place at all.

The listing didn't describe the place accurately, and it was a dump compared with the photos. The host was horrible and seemed to find every possible fee to charge. The supposed breakfast was a stale 0.15 cornetto from a discount grocery store and instant coffee. Cleaning fees hadn't been mentioned, and the late check-in time changed randomly the day before we arrived. For a Rome vacation, I'd spend a few more bucks on a proper place with a host who cares and doesn't try to rip you off.
