Boma Country House

My daughter and I stayed at the Boma Countryhouse for our first visit to Italy. It’s around 30 minutes from central Rome, but the drive or taxi ride is worth it. The staff said you can also take the metro. The property and staff were lovely, and we felt safe and well looked after. It was peaceful and quiet after the busyness of the city. The restaurant is a must. Every dish we tried was delicious. We hope to come back one day, maybe when it’s warm enough to swim.

There were seven of us across three rooms for two nights, and this was the standout accommodation of our 10 adventure in Italy. Breakfast was fantastic, and dinner rivalled every other dinner we had on the trip. One staff member gave one of our companions the nickname “cream puff.” It was such a special moment that the name has stuck.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and both the setting and breakfast were lovely. Grazie mille!

The rooms were nice and clean, the garden was beautiful, and there was a nice little pool. But there were some real downsides. The beds were uncomfortable, and the WiFi was absolutely poor, with constant disconnections. The restaurant and pool are both closed on Sundays. If you arrive then, there’s nowhere nearby in the suburb that you’d want to spend time, so you may end up hungry, and you can’t use the pool even though you’re paying for it. There was also rubbish along the road on the way to the countryhouse. That’s the city or community’s responsibility, not the owners’, but it’s still really annoying.
