Communication was quick and helpful throughout, which kept everything easy and smooth despite there being no staff physically on site. Our room was clean and comfortable, just right for exploring Rome. We had a wonderful stay at Borgonove and would definitely return. The location was excellent, only a short walk from the Vatican and surrounded by great restaurants and cafés in the Borgo Pio area.

The TV isn't smart, and since about 90 percent of the content is in Italian, we couldn't really use it. Lighting wasn't great either, with only a strong white ceiling light or one tiny lamp in the corner. The room was so small it felt like sleeping in a closet, nothing like the pictures advertised. My fiancé and I couldn't wait to leave. The walls were filthy, the place smelled, and the floors felt dirty enough that we didn't dare step on them. I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than one night, or at all. We paid 180 euros, but a room like this should cost 70-125 euros at most. The place has potential, but the owners need to put some serious care and upkeep into it.

The location was unbeatable: a short walk across the Vatican wall to St. Peter's Square, with plenty of food options nearby, from McDonald's to Italian restaurants. I had a wonderful four-night stay with my family and highly recommend the apartment for anyone wanting a memorable visit to Rome. We booked directly with the owners and got a 100 euro discount per room. The rooms were clean and the kitchen well stocked, which made things comfortable. Keypad access at the entrance and rooms gave us top-notch security. There was daily cleaning, and the owners responded promptly on WhatsApp, so everything was hassle-free.

There was no in-person contact, just an email with instructions, but they were clear and getting inside wasn't too complicated. The room was nothing like the Expedia and booking.com photos. We expected a renovated, attractive room with a nice bath, as advertised, but got a closet-sized space that was dirty and damaged. We think the hotel was above a restaurant, and cigarette smoke from downstairs rose straight into our room. For the price, it was overrated. This place shouldn't cost more than 50-75 euros a night. We paid 173 dollars for this hole.

We prepaid about 370 for three nights, March 3-6, 2023, with breakfast included, and paid 21 euros extra for city tax. The room quality was poor, and breakfast was even worse: there was no breakfast room, just a small self-service kitchen with low-quality packaged products. The coffee maker had no water in it. There was no 24-hour reception, and they said they'd sent an email with the details, but we never received it. They didn't answer the phone, so we couldn't get into the building. In the bathroom, the shower head pointed in line with the curtain, so a woman couldn't shower without getting her hair wet. The cleaning lady arrived around 9:30-9:45 and said she had to clean the room then because she had to leave afterward. We had to leave the next day and pay extra for a hotel. They never gave us a penny back. Expedia has been informed. The room photos and information about facilities and amenities were misleading. The funny thing is, I have voice messages from their employee apologizing for all of this.
