Cardo Roma, Autograph Hotel

The restaurant food tasted like delicious, authentic italian cooking, and the drinks were great. The staff were very friendly from the moment we arrived, and they spoke both italian and english. That helped since my boyfriend is fluent in italian and I’m not. We spent 7 days here and had the BEST experience. Our room was a little small but right for the two of us, very clean, well lit, and had no smell. The temperature reading wasn’t accurate, but it didn’t cause a problem or affect the trip. I’m sure they’d have dealt with it if we’d mentioned it. We picked the hotel because it’s a 20 minute drive from the centre of rome and wanted to avoid the busy centre. We took electric scooters into the city most days, about 30 minutes each way. Walking would take at least 2 hours, so plan ahead. I think people who complain about the location clearly didn’t do their research.

The care from the staff stayed consistent throughout our trip. From check-in to helping us settle in, they were always available with a smile. Thank you to Luca, Beatrice, and Tiziano for making the experience feel personal and smooth. We stayed at Cardo Roma at both the beginning and end of our trip, and it worked perfectly. The rooms are beautiful, the beds really comfortable, and everything is thoughtfully maintained. The on-site restaurant deserves a mention too, the pizza is fantastic. It’s peaceful just outside Rome’s busy center, with convenient shuttle options that make getting around easy. We felt well looked after and grateful, and would absolutely recommend Cardo Roma as a comfortable, welcoming place to stay while traveling through Rome, or as a stopover while exploring Italy. The hotel itself is lovely, the rooms are perfect, and the staff are really nice. But the service was shocking. We didn’t have a booking at the restaurant, so they sat us in a corner and then forgot about us, even though it wasn’t very busy. It took 45 minutes just to get a menu. The food was lovely when it finally came. Later, we ordered drinks and gelato as room service and waited over an hour for them. The service at the hotel was just poor.

The staff have been friendly and helpful during our 2-night stay. We needed an extra bed, and although it wasn’t ready when we arrived, they set it up quickly. There’s fresh lemon or cucumber and lime water in the lobby. We had dinner at their restaurant, Vertici. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and we enjoyed a gin and tonic, small snacks, and then pizza. We’re enjoying our stay.
