Casa Campo De' Fiori

Our room was small and on a tight budget, but it was just right for a couple of nights. The breakfast was very good, and the friendly reception team shared food and drink tips that helped us avoid tourist traps. The hotel added a lot to our time in Rome.

My motorcycle broke down during my visit, and Giorgo spent two hours on the phone trying to find a mechanic during the holiday. He found someone who got me back on the road, which was far more help than I’d expect from anyone running a place. He also gives visitors a list of good nearby restaurants and pubs, answers directions questions, and is a great guy. The room was tastefully decorated, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were friendly. With its great location, this was the best choice for my time in Rome. I recommend it to anyone visiting. 👍

I’ve traveled a lot, but this was the worst trip experience I’ve had. On arrival we were told the place was full, so they found us another room. It was an Airbnb in a run-down building around the block. We paid in full, then discovered the water and air conditioning didn’t work, the shower had black mold, and the room was filthy. After a day of travel, we just needed a shower. We asked the hostess for a different room, but were told we could go shower at a spa at our own expense. They wouldn’t refund us, so we found another hotel down the street for the same price, and it was far better. When we complained to booking . com, the hotel said we never arrived. I sent the booking agency receipts and check-in paperwork; the hotel then admitted we had arrived, but claimed the AC was being fixed that day, which wasn’t true. After all the back and forth, they offered just a 10% refund on the $500 we’d paid. I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere to avoid what happened to us at Casa Campo de' Fiori.

I’ve never had such a warm welcome on arrival. The staff were wonderful and so helpful, and the place is a brilliant hideaway in the middle of things, handy for all the main tourist sites. I’d stay again without hesitation.
