Hotel Cristoforo Colombo

The last day ended on a sour note. It took 20 minutes just to collect our stored luggage, while two of the four people at the front desk were chatting and only two were serving guests. The ones helping seemed uninterested and extremely slow. Before that, almost everything had been great, including the nice rooms and good location.

The triple room was on the small side, but very clean, and we thought the hotel was great value. We were especially impressed with the restaurant and breakfast buffet. The location could have been closer to town, though the staff helped by calling cabs each day and booking trips for us. A special thank you to Mauro, Sara and Loana. We had a great stay.

Anthony, our waiter, did everything he could to make us feel like wonderful guests, and that warmth carried through our stay. The reception team, housekeeping and restaurant staff were all welcoming and helpful, with housekeeping especially friendly. We spent three nights here and enjoyed the weather, our stay and the services.

The reception experience was the worst part. I waited more than 20 minutes, although another receptionist was wandering around, and when I asked the man at the desk, he just said I had to wait. I didn't even get a welcome, let alone a smile. It felt more like passport control than a hotel reception. The building by the mall was old, my room was tiny and extremely noisy, and there was no water in the rooms. None of the vending machines in any building worked. Breakfast was awful, with no bread other than toast. Honestly, this felt more like a large hostel than a hotel, and probably the worst place I've stayed.
