Damaso Hotel

We spent each evening winding down at the rooftop bar on the 7th floor, and the hotel’s breakfast was excellent. The building was well presented, and although I don’t think they serve lunch or dinner, there are plenty of nearby cafes, restaurants and gelateria. Remember to use the 20% drinks discount if they offer it. Our second-floor room was spacious and comfortable, with a balcony at the front. There wasn’t much traffic noise, apart from police and ambulances going past. The hotel also worked well as a base: the main sights, including the Forum/Colosseum, Vatican & St Peters Basilica, Pantheon/Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps,/Trevi Fountain and Trastevare, were all within walking distance. The daily market at Campo di Fiori is just a 1-2 minute walk away. Sabrina & Sara in the breakfast area, Micheal at the bar, and Ciro, Francesca and Leonardo on reception made us feel especially welcome. Lovely people.

We were a group of 14 adults across seven rooms, and the hotel handled all of us so well. They arranged luggage porter service and several van rides, and put on an amazing breakfast. Everyone was kind and accommodating, with a polished but personal boutique feel. The location was ideal for getting to the Colosseum, the Renaissance sights around the heart of Rome, especially Piazza Navona, Trastevere and the Vatican. I can’t imagine a better spot. Can’t wait to come back!

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and our classic double was a good size, fresh and very clean. The bathroom was lovely too. We could easily walk to Trevi Fountain, and Piazzo Navona and Patheon were just a couple of minutes away. For our first trip to Rome, we were so glad we found this place. It deserves more than 3 stars.

We left already wishing we could come back. Damaso Hotel is close to many of Rome’s highlights, yet it feels quiet and tucked away. Our room was spotless, comfortable and thoughtfully laid out, and the hotel is clearly well cared for, with a lovely mix of charm and comfort. What made the biggest difference was the team: they were attentive, friendly and happy to help with recommendations or anything else we needed. From arrival onward, they made us feel genuinely welcome. A really warm, well-run place in Rome.
