Daphne Luxury Suites

The location was excellent, but the room was very cold even with the heating and air conditioners turned on, since they weren’t working properly. We were so disappointed, especially as we were there for my birthday. There was also an extremely ugly extra bed by the front door, which wasn’t shown in the Booking.com pictures and completely changed the feel of the room. I have a mold allergy and couldn’t sleep well there.

I loved every minute of the stay, and the location was excellent. Everything else was good too, and we appreciated it all. The only problem was that the accommodation staff didn’t speak English. They contacted another staff member over WhatsApp, though, and she was excellent and took care of all our requests.

The pictures on booking.com didn’t match the room. It was in rough shape, the Wi-Fi only worked if you sat in the hallway, and the AC was weak. The jacuzzi looked like it was coming apart, with its front cover missing and the inside exposed. There wasn’t a hand towel in one of the bathrooms, and the coffee pot was sitting on a cloth bench. The view was terrible too. Not worth the money.

For the rate, this was a decent place in an expensive city. The B&B is small and sits inside an apartment building off an alley near Barberini plaza. Staff were very friendly at check-in, and when I emailed to ask for dinner reservations, they booked them quickly. Breakfast was fine, nothing special. The room was nicely decorated, though a few things could have been better. There was a spot on the bedspread and the curtains needed cleaning. The shower temperature swung between chilly and too hot. Rooms are up one, two, or three spiral flights of stairs, with no lift, so be ready to carry your luggage.
