The service was fine. We complained about the shower pressure and they fixed it the next day. The rooms have high ceilings and an old-fashioned style, which is what you might expect from a hotel in this location. We did find a fair amount of dust in places even though the rooms were cleaned daily. In the attached photo, for instance, you can see dust on top of the bathroom door. Noise between rooms was the other problem. Street noise was almost nonexistent except for some sirens, but sounds from neighboring guests came through loudly. The rooms aren’t well soundproofed from each other, which was a problem when some guests arrived at 2am or others left at 6am.

The place has an elevator, and you can check in when reception is closed if you get the instructions forehead. The rooms are clean, with a nice retro style, and feel hotel-like. It’s about 10-15 minutes on foot to Termini station and the Colosseum, with cafes and shops in the neighborhood. If you like walking, most of the iconic places are reachable on foot. The hotel is close to Rome’s Historical center. There may be noise from the open window if you leave it open, as it’s over a big street.

The room was ok and the location was good, but getting there was a struggle. The hotel was on the fifth floor, the elevator didn’t work, and we had to climb 127 steps every day. My wife has asthma and really struggled. I wouldn’t go back because I can’t risk the elevator being out of order.

Beware, scammers and phishers. I booked through an app, then they demanded another “confirmation” on a site that looked exactly like the official one. They said it was only for security and booking confirmation, with “no extra costs.” I thought it was just the usual reservation confirmation process. Even though I’d already paid through the booking app, they charged me a second time and refuse to reimburse that second charge.
