Domus Via Veneto

The location was a good fit for us. We could walk to whatever we wanted to see, but it was far enough out to feel quiet and safe. The room was extremely clean, and the staff were helpful with every question. They offered suggestions and directions and could arrange anything we requested. We had a great stay and would happily return. The staff were top notch!

The receptionist was very nice, five stars for her. Breakfast comes to the room between 8am and 10am, and you pick what you want from a list, including juice, coffee, croisant, and yogurt. It’s very close to Piazza di Spagna, but don’t expect luxury. The rooms are decent, and there are only five of them, so this isn’t really a hotel. They’re in a historical building with no hotel signs outside. The entrance is near Coop, the groceries store.

The taxi never arrived, so at 4:40 am I had to rush around the streets with my luggage looking for another one. Fortunately, I found one. The day before my return flight, I’d asked the manager to arrange a 4:30 AM pickup and paid him 60 euros, even though the regular taxi fare to the airport is 48 euros. I called Domus via Veneto to report it, and the manager said he’d follow up and refund me. I sent several emails, but they only sent me a reservation confirmation for 4:45 AM and told me to deal with the taxi company myself, even though they’d booked the wrong time. This could have cost me a flight, and all I wanted was a refund for the taxi reservation. They never refunded me and stopped replying to my calls and emails.

The bus and metro connections made it easy to get to Rome's attractions, with bus 80 going straight into town. Our room was large, quiet, clean, and nicely romantic. The staff were warm and caring.
