The host was amazing and friendly, and the location in the center of historic Rome is hard to beat. Getting there by car can be a bit difficult during holidays. A couple of things to know: the outside entrance is a very small door with no apartment sign, and the old, vintage elevator works fine but is tight, with room for fewer than three adults. For what you pay, though, you'll love the apartment.

I really enjoyed the more private feel, somewhere between an Airbnb and a hotel. You couldn't ask for a better location for shops, restaurants, sightseeing, or a stroll by the river. I liked having the stairs up to the fourth floor as an excuse to enjoy another glass of wine. There's also a small elevator, so no worries.

Getting around Rome was easy from this central spot, with most major sights within walking distance. Check-in and checkout went smoothly, and the service was great. She also kindly shared some local restaurant tips. The furniture and kitchen utensils could use an update, though. The sofas, cupboards, stands, and utensils all felt pretty worn.

We were right among the important sites, which made the residence's location especially convenient. The room was roomy and comfortable, and I loved the little library and lovely tea room. The hospitality was excellent. I'll make this my preferred place to stay when I come back to Rome.
