The room had a lot of character, with the feel of a period-inspired room in Italy, and it was all incredibly clean. I’d read complaints that the rooms were outdated, but I didn’t think that was fair. It had what we needed to rest and freshen up; the entertainment is out in the city anyway. We spent three days in Rome and never needed the metro, tram, or bus because the hotel is so central. I’d call Hotel Erdarelli a boutique hotel for its small size and the character of our room. Breakfast included both hot and cold dishes, and a Barista could make real coffee when asked. I’m actively recommending it to everyone I know heading to Rome. For a central hotel, the price is excellent for the location and what it offers.

Friendly, helpful staff and comfortable, clean rooms. Lots of Rome’s attractions are an easy walk from the hotel.

The street was noisy around the clock, though that seems to be true of all the hotels in this area and isn’t the hotel’s fault. Aside from that, my four days in Rome were wonderful, full of the atmosphere of authentic medieval Italy. I also want to mention Armina at reception. I saw another guest loudly and unfairly blame the hotel for services that weren’t actually its responsibility, and Armina handled it with great professionalism, politeness, and courtesy.

The hotel sits above the last remaining aqueduct used to supply the trevi fountain, just around the corner. You can see it from the street at the back and downstairs in the department store next door. A brilliant find for a history nerd. The rooms were clean, with great water pressure. The windows don’t close properly, so nights were noisy, though that’s what I expected in the middle of Rome. Breakfast was enough for us, nothing fancy, and there were plenty of tables.

We needed a room at 9 pm after our Airbnb was overbooked, and the receptionists welcomed us with warm smiles and a calm, professional manner. They were exceptionally friendly and caring, and the hospitality was outstanding. Sightseeing is easy from this perfect location. We could leave our luggage after checkout in a safe spot, watched by the receptionist. The rooms had everything we needed, and despite being right in the center, it was peaceful and quiet for sleeping.
