There was mould throughout the bathroom and on the bedroom windows. The shower was tiny, even for my 5'6" wife, and I'm 6'1". Its doors were broken, so they'd put up a makeshift curtain. We had no hot water on the first day. The mattress and linen seemed like they might have come from an Italian Goodwill. Whenever you turned over, you bounced around like on a pogo stick. One of the worst places I've stayed. Do yourself a favour and don't stay here, it'll ruin your Rome experience.

We were treated very badly by the host. Communication was poor, and he didn't respond to our messages, so after arriving with our heavy bags we eventually called him. He came to meet us after some time and said, in a pretty insinuating way, that he didn't understand how we'd managed to book for that price, as if I'd changed it myself on booking.com. He said the room didn't go for that price and that we had to cancel or pay another 250 euros. He also kept saying he wasn't sure how we'd booked because the room was still showing as available online. I pointed out he was looking at his bookings for the next day. 🙄 He insisted I cancel. I hesitated because I knew they boiking.com have a refund policy, and I already suspected a scam. It was the weekend of a football match in Rome, and it seemed he realized he could charge more for those nights. I also found his rooms listed for even less than what we'd paid, which went against his claim that the room cost more. He wouldn't let us into the accommodation despite our booking being paid for. I've never experienced anything like it, including the rudeness that followed. Stay far, far away. Accepting this behavior lets customers and travelers be treated this way. We can't arrive at accommodation we've already paid for and be turned away because the host suddenly wants more.

The location was the one good thing. The bedroom and bathroom both had mold, and everything smelled musty. The bed creaked and was horribly uncomfortable, and the blanket smelled funky. The shower was tiny, moldy, and had broken doors. The walls were paper thin, so I could hear footsteps upstairs and other guests outside the room. The AC light kept flickering all night, which was hard to ignore when I was already awake because I couldn't sleep in that bed. The toiletries were a joke.

When we arrived around 22:00, they told us our booking had been deleted, even though I had reserved a room for four nights. They were liars. We were left trying to figure out where we could go that late. Don't book here.
