It's about a five-minute walk to Roma Termini Station, with fast food and convenience stores nearby, and the location is great. There were people hanging around outside, but they didn't bother us, two women. We knew it was a very old hotel and hadn't expected much. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though the mini fridge and hair dryer didn't work.

There's plenty nearby and most places are close, with lots of stores around. The location could feel intimidating or dangerous for solo travelers or women on their own, but if you don't engage or appear vulnerable, you'll be alright even after dark. We weren't sure what to expect from the location or condition, and check-in surprised us a little. Work was going on in front of our room; it didn't bother us until they started laying tiles in the afternoon. Don't expect a wow hotel, but the rooms were clean, the elevator worked, and the bathrooms were good. A strange smell came from the bathroom on our last day, probably from the pipes. The staff were welcoming, and the morning buffet was enough, though there wasn't any protein.

The room was spacious, but somehow felt dirty and creepy. I was traveling alone and found the front desk man kept saying weird things, so I felt scared staying here. The hotel is on one of the upper floors, though I can't remember which, and you have to use an old elevator to get there. There were lots of homeless people downstairs, but they didn't bother you. If you're traveling alone, please don't stay here. There are much better hotels nearby.

It was convenient to walk to Termini Station, but near sunset, when we came back from a walk, a few people were camped right by the entrance. There were signs of homeless people along the whole block, and we heard shouting and fights in the street at night. The room was fine apart from being next to reception, which made it noisy. The bigger issue was the heating. We couldn't turn it off or even lower it, so we had to sleep with both the heat and AC running all night. Service was OK, no complaints there.
