We ended up staying at the Forum for three nights after Jean Luca, the kind front desk clerk, answered our call and helped us out. Our travel agent had booked us at the kings hotel and confirmed our late arrival the day before, but when my family of four got there at 2 am, it was closed. They told us on the phone they’d released our room at midnight, so we were scrambling to find somewhere to stay. We arrived at the Forum around 3 am, and the staff got us settled. They were so helpful and friendly. The hotel has lots of charm. I believe it used to be a dorm for priests. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms have all been upgraded. Breakfast was quite good, with an amazing view. Great staff!

I wanted to stay somewhere historic in this historic city, not at a run-of-the-mill chain, and Hotel Forum fit the bill. It looks great in pictures but is even better in person. The place has an amazing, nostalgic feel while still having modern conveniences. The Roman Forum is next door, the Coloseum is ten minutes away, and Trevi Fountain is fifteen minutes away. There are plenty of local shops, bars, and restaurants around too. The food was really quite good, and the rooftop bar is amazing. Reception staff were among the most helpful I’ve come across. We had a perfect weekend in Rome, and the hotel played a big part in it. Good: all of the above. Bad: err, I guess the lift is a bit slow.

We stayed seven nights and loved the staff, who were absolutely lovely. We had B&B, and the buffet was great, with the dining room’s 180-degree views into the Forum. From there you can see the Coliseum up a narrow street, and the Victor Emmannuel building with its huge equine sculptures on the horizon. The hotel is right in the heart of the Forum of Roma, and it’s a very busy neighbourhood, so it may not be your kind of place if you prefer somewhere quiet. The street side can be a little noisy because glass recycling happens three times a week at 6 am. We asked to move and were upgraded to a wonderful deluxe room. If it fits your budget, book the deluxe. Highly recommend Hotel Forum. Five stars!

My mom and I stayed for ten nights in late April and had an awesome time. The building has a classic Italian feel, and I was told it used to be a monastery. Our room was quiet and opened directly onto a shared outdoor terrace. It’s centrally located near many major attractions, yet still feels tucked away. The staff were all friendly and very accommodating. We’d definitely stay here again if we visit Rome.

The location is fantastic, within walking distance of the forum, Colosseum, and plenty of good restaurants. This charming hotel is almost on top of the Fora Imperiali. Its rooftop breakfast room has great panoramic views of the forum and beyond, and it becomes a restaurant in the evenings. The rooms are clean, but the hotel as a whole could use an upgrade. The two lifts are fun to ride, though not especially efficient. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast feels a little limited: the only hot options are scrambled eggs and bacon, though there’s a nice selection of cakes. The plain rooms lack modern technology or amenities, which may be what’s missing. The hotel ticks a lot of boxes and there’s nothing particularly bad about it. I’d still recommend it, though to me it doesn’t feel like a typical four-star hotel, even if it is nice.
