Gioberti Art Hotel

Our honeymoon was badly affected by having no hot water for all three nights. We couldn't shower properly, and after taking ice-cold showers my husband and I came down with the flu. I hope the hotel will compensate us and cover our medical costs. We asked reception either to move us or to find a nearby hotel where we could shower. They said that wasn't possible because everywhere was full. But when I checked the nearby hotels' websites, plenty of rooms were available. It didn't seem like the receptionist had even tried to look. The hotel still hasn't replied to my messages. More than two weeks passed without an answer, and after I sent a reminder there was still nothing. Now it's been four weeks. It feels clear that they don't care about their guests, and I feel sorry for the people who'll stay there in the future. I don't understand why the Google Maps reviews are so high. This place is definitely overrated, and I absolutely don't recommend it. If you want to feel like you're homeless for an unforgettable experience, stay here.

The staff are very friendly and the service is great. The hotel has a lot of stairs, so I'm not sure how accessible it is for people with disabilities. The WiFi also doesn't seem to work as expected with newer cards or laptops.

Our supposed room with a view looked straight at another building. Cleaning happened without our permission, and the shower leaked. The room was also extremely cold. Our six-month-old had to sleep in three layers and a hat. When we asked for heat, staff said the windows hadn't been shut properly, although we hadn't touched them. There was dust on the wardrobes, and the fresh towels had been set on those dusty surfaces. The towels and bathrobes smelled of chlorine, and the robes were stained. The mattress in the baby's crib had awful stains too. When we requested a replacement, staff only said they'd put a sheet over it. Breakfast wasn't tasty either. How does this place qualify as a four-star hotel?

The rooms were spotless, modern, and well equipped, and breakfast had enough choice to leave you full. We picked this hotel for its closeness to the train station and the hop-on buses. The location loses a star for the noise from the rail station across the road.
